Have you ever heard of the most wise wizard of all, the most famous British author who wrote many brilliant books of the main character? It’s Harry Potter!

Did you know that the first appearance of Harry Potter in the movie (yes the books of Harry Potter was so famous that it was inspired into movies) was “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” The first book was published in June 26, 1997 by J. K Rowling. There are 7 books and 7 movies but there will be a new 8th book coming out soon in Summer, 2016.

Here are the 8 books: (1st book) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (1997), (2nd book) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (1998), (3rd book) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (1999), (4th book) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2000), (5th book) Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix (2003), (6th book) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2005), (7th book) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (2007), (8th book) Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (2016).

Harry was a baby when his parents (his REAL parents) died from Lord Voldemort (evil villain) and Harry’s mother tried to protect him but she died. Harry was only a baby when he got his scar that will stay on his forehead forever. Lord Voldemort just doesn’t comprehend the word “love.” Harry was rescued from his only remained family….the Dursley Family!

K Rowling books were so famous, adventurous and so interesting that it was created into movies, shows and rides like Harry Potter was put in Orlando, FL. Millions of people came in to see the Universal Studios of Harry Potter rides in Florida!

Facts about Harry Potter

  1.  In the movies, Harry Potter was played by Daniel Radcliffe, Ron Weasley played by Rupert Grint and Hermoine was played by Emma Watson.
  2. Did you know that Ron Weasley’s (Rupert Grint) character swore a lot and Rowling didn’t want him to say bad words cause it was inappropriate for young readers.

3.              Professor Severus Snape (played by Alan Rickman) knew his character’s fate before the movie, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” was released, because Rowling told him.

4.           You know Harry Potter’s evil enemy…..well did you know that Lord Voldemort, the end of the word “Voldemort” the letter “t” is silent. You pronounce it like this “Voldemore.” The name comes from French and it means “flight of death.”

5.    Did you know that during the movie broomset of “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” that an outbreak of lice occurred among the children cast members!

6.    Tom Felton auditioned for the roles of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, but was chosen to play Draco Malfoy instead.

7.   Dementors, the deadly phantoms that guard Azkaban Prison, represent depression and were based on Rowling’s struggle with the disease.

Did you know that the Harry Potter books were not just in English but were translated in 67 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES and were sold more than 400 million copies!

 Probably the most impressive of Harry Potter facts is that J.K. Rowling is the first person to become a billionaire (U.S. dollars) by writing books.

During the filming of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” in the kissing scene of Harry and Hermoine, Rupert Grint was removed from the set for laughing too much.

The flying car was only used in the movie set “Harry Potter and he Chamber of Secrets” this car was stolen off the set. 7 months later,  it was discovered when an anonymous caller informed police of its location.

When the new book “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban” was released, the publisher asked stores not to sell the books until schools were closed.

In order to become the three main stars of Harry Potter movies, each actor needs to write an essay. Emma Watson wrote a 16-page essay, Daniel Radcliffe wrote one-simple-page essay, and Rupert Grint never even turned his in.
